The Mavic 2 Pro has the all-new 20 MP 1” CMOS Hasselblad Camera and the latest 3-axis gimbal technology. That makes this aircraft very capable of collecting high-quality images for photogrammetric processing. The Mavic 2 Pro provides high-quality deliverables in an extremely portable and compact form factor. Aerotas is a fan of this airframe and sensor!

But, the Mavic 2 Pro has been causing headaches during data processing because of a geotag issue. The geotags for a portion of the photos are offset by a half-dozen city blocks or so. That is a real hassle for even the most experienced Pix4D user.

The Aerotas Data Team published a step-by-step guide that instructs you how to manually change image geolocations for the Mavic 2 Pro in QGIS and Pix4D (you can download the guide below). Many of the surveyors we work with fly the Mavic 2 Pro, and we have been ahead of this making sure to correct the geolocations for the customer during photogrammetry so that they get good data despite the issues.

Our team has also been working closely with DJI to push a fix to all users, benefiting the entire community of Mavic 2 Pro users.
